When Yamaha announced that the company would introduce two electric scooters for the European and Asian markets next year, they also shared what concepts the new scooters would be drawn from. It turns out that the Yamaha E and E electric scooter concepts will be heading to production.
The brand first unveiled the Yamaha E and E electric scooter concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show.
At that time they were just that: concepts. Yamaha had made slight strides toward developing electric scooters, but usually with outside help, such as a partnership with electric scooter maker Gogoro.
But the concepts unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show demonstrated Yamaha's intentions to develop fully electric two-wheelers itself. Almost two years passed without hearing anything about the project, leading many to question Yamaha's commitment to its own in-house electric motorcycles and scooters.
But in May, we were surprised to find patent images that revealed a largely production-ready version of Yamaha's E electric scooter . With Yamaha's recent announcement of produc Caseno Email List tion plans for European and Asian electric scooters, the pieces finally fell into place.

The Yamaha E and E Electric Scooters will be cc and cc class equivalent.
Yamaha E Electric Scooter
The E electric scooter will be a cc class equivalent, although we do not yet know the official technical specifications of the scooter. It is likely to have a power output of kW ( HP) or less to fit into the corresponding regulatory class of light electric scooters in Europe.
Similar electric scooters often have top speeds of around mph ( km/h). The patent images showed a large, non-removable battery mounted in the center of the frame and taking up a large portion of the area where the walk-through area of a traditional scooter would be.
The motor is mounted just behind the battery with a chain or belt drive linking it to the rear wheel. A charging port can also be seen at the front of the scooter, allowing for convenient charging with front parking.
The design of the E is updated, which makes this scooter an easier product to produce, and of course to drive.
At the rear you can see the upholstery coverage, it also has a pair of small rearview mirrors, the rear fender is sharp, and the front fork is hidden. The design is updated and much more realistic which makes the Yamaha E easier to produce and ride.

Yamaha Electric Scooters
The Yamaha E electric scooter is a smaller format vehicle that is expected to fall into the cc class equivalent. That means it could probably have a lower power motor of up to kW ( hp) and a slower top speed of around km/h ( mph).
The scooter may be smaller, but it still offers two-passenger seating and interesting design options like a single-sided rear swingarm.
The E is also likely to feature removable batteries, as smaller packs would be lighter and also have less capacity, requiring more convenient charging solutions.
Yamaha's past partnerships with Gogoro could mean that the iconic green and black Gogoro batteries would adorn the scooter.
